Kaneshichi's Shiitake Dashi is a premium granulated Japanese stock seasoning made in Toyama, Japan. Each convenient single-use stick (4 g) yields enough dashi for approximately 4 bowls of miso soup, making it an effortless way to bring authentic Japanese umami to your everyday cooking.
- Rich shiitake umami: Made with dried shiitake mushrooms whose umami compounds are naturally concentrated during the drying process, delivering a deep, aromatic flavour.
- Balanced with bonito: A touch of domestically produced katsuobushi (bonito flakes) adds a subtle, rounded depth to the plant-forward base.
- Versatile in the kitchen: Ideal for miso soup, clear soups, simmered dishes, rice bowls, steamed egg custard (chawanmushi), stir-fries, and more.
- Individually wrapped for freshness: Each stick is sealed in an aluminium-lined wrapper that locks in aroma and flavour. No scissors needed — easy hand-tear opening. Any unused portion can be stored by simply folding the stick closed.
- Long shelf life: 2-year best-before period. Suitable for ambient (room-temperature) storage.
- Shipped directly from the factory in Toyama Prefecture, ensuring maximum freshness.
